COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
Meeting Minutes – JUNE 25, 2014


NEXT MEETING: JULY 9, 2014
PLEASE NOTE THE CPC MEETINGS ARE (TENTATIVELY) NOW HELD ON THE 2ND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH.


CPC Meeting began at 7:15pm

Members Present:  Laura FitzGerald-Kemmett, Bob Sears, Allan Clemons, Kenny Mitchell, John Kemmett, Joe Gamache

Absent:  Patty Norton, Bob Overholtzer and Tom Hickey

Guests:  None

Approval of Previous meeting Minutes:
Approval not granted for May 2014 minutes due to attendance of members; not enough to make a motion/vote on minutes.  Will be reviewed again for approval in July’s meeting.


CHAIRMAN’S REPORT:  

Finances:
Bill for High School Project (Mr. Rogers) in the amount of $6,399.97 was approved by the committee.  6-0.


NEW BUSINESS:

NO UPDATES FOR THE FOLLOWING:
First Congregational Church in Hanson – Pre-Application – Robert Cox
Town Forest/Outdoor Recreation Area
Camp Kiwanee-North End Cabin Repair and Restoration Pre-Application – Jim Flanagan

High School Project – Kenny Mitchell/Mr. Rogers
Bob Rogers sent an invoice for a basketball court to Merry with cost estimates for review; cpc signed off on it at tonight’s meeting.

Robinson Field Proposal by Mr. O'Brien
Rob O’Brien is working on bids; should have an update/response in a few weeks.



OLD BUSINESS:

Poor Meadow Brook/Stone Property:
Kenny Mitchell reported that the trees for Stone Property were torn down so progress is moving forward.




MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Laura is scheduled to go to Thursday’s Recreation Committee meeting in June; she encouraged other committee members to go as well.
  • Bob Sears gave an update to the Housing meeting he went to at the Bridgewater Senior Center on May 1st.  Impressive showing and thoughts are being considered about a Housing Coordinator position being open for five communities to share:  Pembroke, W. Bridgewater, Wareham, Hanson and Plympton/Middleboro.  Bob to go back to the housing committee and review housing coordinator position again.
  • Laura suggested a CPC breakfast get together, and then tours the sites that CPC has funded.  Also mentioned a CPC Open House Day.
  • Laura is still looking for Masterplan from:  housing, parks and recreation and conservation.  Also discussed in the potential of contracting someone who writes Masterplan/grants on a part time basis.  Eileen to follow up with CPA-MA (Kathy and Stuart).
  • Motion was made Bob Sears (1st) and Joe Gamache (2nd) to potentially move the monthly CPC meetings to the 2nd Wednesday of each month pending other member’s approval:  Allan, Patty, Bob O., and Tom. 6-0.

  • CPC Application review – Tom Hickey to review/edit working with Eileen
  • Budget for Town Meeting
